I first met this fine gentleman when he was a member of brilliant Glasgow four-piece El Hombre Trajeado in the late 90s. Laeto would play with them a lot and it was because of Hubby that Laeto were introduced to Guided Missile, the label who put out our first record and who had worked a lot with El Hombre. Hubby told the label boss that he should put out our album and without even hearing a note he agreed. I’m not sure what Hubby said but it must have been convincing. Given how much he contributed to our dream of making a record it seemed entirely appropriate that Hubby should open this compilation with this lovely track from his album First and Last, released on Chemikal Underground.
