1998-2006 were the years I was busiest on the Scottish music scene. Dead or American were a band I saw a lot, played with a lot, and inevitably befriended. Coming from Stirling as they did I think they always felt a little bit outside of what was happening in the big smokes of Glasgow and Edinburgh and, coming from Dundee, we (Laeto) had that same feeling. I think being on the periphery of the ‘scene’ means you care less about what other people think of your music or where you fit and, free from those constraints, you allow yourself to just do what feels and sounds good to you.
This track is from their second album Thaumaturgy, recorded in Massachusetts, USA, by Kurt Ballou of Converge fame.
